Aesthetic Surgery Gifts for
the Season

Serving Chattanooga, Tennessee

s the Holiday Season approaches, we begin to rack our brains trying to think of those perfect gifts for our loved ones.  If remembering last year’s gift hunt still sends shivers down your spine, then I have a little hint for you. Sometimes the best gifts don’t come in a box. You might also want to give yourself a little “pick-me-up” before the decorating, shopping, and party madness kicks into high gear.

Remember nothing packs a bigger cosmetic punch for the minimal downtime than BOTOX.  Used artistically, BOTOX can soften lines throughout the forehead and eyes, and produce a gentle brow lift.  It takes about fifteen minutes, and lasts four to six months.  Our current hyaluronic acid injectables have a variety of applications in filling out wisdom lines and plumping thinned lips.  They, too, require very little time in a busy season.  Skin care is important all year round, but during late fall and winter, our skin is particularly apt to be damaged by temperature extremes and the lack of humidity.  A series of fruit acid peels coupled with a cosmaceutical skin care maintenance system may be just the trick for a tired complexion.

For many, an aesthetic surgical procedure is truly the gift that keeps on giving.  The improved self esteem derived from the correction of even a minor physical flaw can be significant.  Particularly for our younger patients, rhinoplasty or cosmetic nasal surgery can be transforming.  There is no other single surgery that possesses the cosmetic power of a good rhinoplasty to redefine facial appearance.  Prominent ears are also a common concern to young people.  Otoplasty is a well tolerated surgical technique where the shape of the ear is adjusted by an incision in the back of the ear. We always look for that self esteem boost after surgery which is routinely accompanied by a new short hair cut.

It is very fulfilling for the physician to observe how emotionally uplifting the breast reconstructive process can be.  Breast shape and appearance are an important part of how every woman views herself.  Aesthetic breast surgery continues to be one of the most commonly performed cosmetic surgeries in the U.S.  Breast shape can be controlled both in terms of lift and volume.  That means that breasts which are perceived to be too large, and even impede normal activities of daily living, can be corrected to a more ideal smaller size and youthful shape.  Similarly, breasts which are perceived to be too small may also be altered with regard to each patient’s perceived ideal.

Finally, we come to the aging face.  Facial aesthetic surgery options have expanded steadily in the last decade.  Eyelid surgery and facelifts have become safer and less invasive with shorter down times.  Techniques have been refined to yield natural results.  This, along with the new volume enhancing injectables has heralded a new understanding and approach to the aging face.  Facial cosmetic surgery consultations typically include a computerized imaging session which can give you an idea of what you can expect after your specific surgery.

So if you’re out of ideas or you just want to give a gift that will be truly appreciated and outlast the New Year celebration, think about an aesthetic surgery consultation and gift package.  Remember, the best gifts really don’t come in a box.
